Original One of a Kind Faerie Creations

1. Your Faerie Creations are beautiful! We at "The Faeries and Angels Magazine" are truly delighted to have you featured! Can you tell us what inspired you to begin creating these beautiful Faeries?

Oh, thank you so much! It really is such an honor for me. I actually began sculpting faeries to satisfy my need to manifest my own vision of the fae. I never intended to sculpt more than one, but once they found a willing "portal" to let them in, they just kept coming! I had no idea that it would ever become a career, much less, my life's purpose...but apparently the faeries had other ideas!

2. Can you tell us more about some of the different Faerie Creations that you have? And where can people order their own Faerie Creation?

I create two different styles of faeries...fully sculpted and partially sculpted with soft sculpt bodies that may be positioned in a variety of different poses. The fully sculpted faeries tend to be smaller and range from 1 1/2"(3.6 cm) to 5 1/2"(13.8 cm) in height. The posable faeries range from 6"(15 cm) to 7"(17.4 cm) in height. In addition to their ability to be repositioned, they are also able to "fly" with the aid of a fine nylon line. All available faeries can be found, and ordered, at www.gossamerglen.com . I try to keep a few of each available at all times. But often, they fly off as soon as they have manifested. I do have a mailing list so those on the list are notified and able to see the new faeries first.

3. We love that you have Faeries for different seasons - you even have Faeries of sleep (Nocturnal Faerie), a bat winged Faerie, different flower Faeries and more! Does the natural world inspire these creations? Do you feel connected with the Earth?

Absolutely! For example, the inspiration for my verdant "Harmony" faerie was the symphony of a warm summer's day. She is the rhythm of the woods; an orchestra of insects; the whisper of the wind. She is the Song of Summer. I am most often inspired by the beauty and magic of nature, especially the ever changing seasons in Michigan, which I call home. And since faeries are the guardians of the Flora and Fauna, that's what you'll find reflected in my work. I feel very connected to the energy and life force of the Earth.

4. Is there any message that you are trying to convey with your Faerie Creations?

I would hope that the message conveyed by my faeries is one of peace, love, and respect for nature, and the wondrous beauty that surrounds us each day. I also hope that they bring a little joy and magic to those who come upon them.

5. Can you tell us about any new or upcoming projects you are working on?

I'm so glad you asked! I'm delighted to announce the launch of my new product line...Designer Faerie Bags! The Faeries of Gossamer Glen are now appearing on designer bags...handbags, purses, totes, makeup bags and more! The high quality, durable microfiber bags are as beautiful as they are functional and fun! I really wanted to do something a little different, and I like bags, so it was a natural choice. They can be ordered at www.gossamerglen.com . If you'd like to stay informed on the very latest News from the Glen, just join our mailing list and you'll always be the first to know!

6. You also do custom Faeries. Can you tell us more about that?

I do create custom faeries when asked, but only with the understanding that I don't control the outcome. The faeries have the creative control. I will meditate on the person who desires the faerie and ask for their faerie to appear. I trust completely that the perfect face and personality will appear for that individual. I can work with vague notions, such as color, but not with details. I can't duplicate a faerie that I've already created. Each one is their own unique being. I never know how a faerie will look until it's completely finished. It's always so exciting to see who will appear next!
